Premier1 Targets High-Grade Gold Discovery in Western Australia's Abbotts North
Premier1 Zeroes In on WA Gold Drill Targets with Gravity Data

Premier1 Sharpens Focus on Gold Discovery in Western Australia's Abbotts North

Premier1 has intensified its efforts to uncover a significant gold deposit at its Abbotts North project in Western Australia, with recent high-resolution gravity surveys pinpointing priority drill targets in this emerging gold-rich region. The company reports that integrating new gravity data with existing high-resolution magnetic information has validated previously identified gold mineralisation, located at the intersection of multiple large-scale geological structures—a prime environment for high-grade gold formation.

Enhanced Confidence Ahead of Maiden Drilling Campaign

According to Premier1 management, these findings have significantly boosted confidence in the Rochefort prospect, setting the stage for an inaugural drilling program scheduled to commence in the second quarter of this year. The Rochefort site has already demonstrated substantial potential through surface observations, including a coherent gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 400 meters by 350 meters and high-grade rock chip samples reaching up to 11.7 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold.

Simon Phillips, executive director of Premier1, stated: "The high-resolution gravity survey data have provided additional strong support for the prospectivity of the Rochefort target. It gives us greater confidence in the structural controls on mineralisation."

Strategic Location and Historical Context

Although Abbotts North is Premier1's secondary project, located 300 kilometers from its primary Yalgoo gold tenure, its strategic position adds considerable appeal to the company's Western Australian gold narrative. The project is situated just 35 kilometers north of Meekatharra within the historically productive yet underexplored Abbotts greenstone belt.

Notably, the Rochefort prospect lies only 20 kilometers along strike to the north of New Murchison Gold's Crown Prince deposit, which is currently in production and boasts a high-grade resource of 2.2 million tonnes grading 3.9 g/t gold, equivalent to 279,000 ounces. New Murchison Gold is now transporting its high-grade ore to Westgold Resources' Bluebird processing facility, contributing to a market capitalization exceeding $500 million.

Discovery Potential in Underexplored Terrain

The geological setting at Abbotts North mirrors the underexplored greenstones observed at the Crown Prince deposit, highlighting significant discovery potential yet to be tested. Historically, the Abbotts mining centre produced 41,000 ounces of gold at an exceptional head grade of 31 g/t from shallow quartz reefs, but the belt has seen minimal modern exploration, particularly on Premier1's claims.

With geophysics now identifying structural sweet spots, surface geochemistry indicating gold presence, and a maiden drilling campaign on the horizon, Premier1 is building a compelling case for another major gold discovery in the Abbotts greenstones. This development underscores the ongoing exploration opportunities in Western Australia's gold regions, driven by advanced technological methods and strategic targeting.
