Masked Thieves Execute Brazen Home Invasion in Adelaide's Northern Suburbs
A group of masked thieves remains on the run following a brazen home invasion in Adelaide's northern suburbs, where they ignored multiple security measures and even the property's two large huskies. The intruders slipped inside the house while the residents were asleep, grabbed keys, and drove away in the family car in a matter of minutes.
Thieves Operate with Impunity Despite Security Measures
Homeowner Paul Thiele reported that the thieves arrived at approximately 3am, with surveillance footage revealing a car pulling up outside containing three or possibly four young individuals. Two of them exited the vehicle and managed to gain entry through the roller door into the house.
"They were inside for a good two minutes according to the video footage," Thiele told 7NEWS. "Not a care in the world." The thieves showed no concern for the sensor lights, security cameras, or the family's two huskies, demonstrating a calculated and prepared approach.
Stolen Vehicle and Personal Belongings Dumped Nearby
Among the items stolen was Thiele's daughter's work car, described as her "pride and joy" taken in mere seconds. Thiele believes the thieves are using a methodical technique, testing roller door keys along streets to find which ones work.
After the incident, Thiele searched nearby streets himself but could not locate the stolen silver SUV. Instead, he discovered personal belongings, including his credit card and ID, dumped in an alleyway about 200 metres away from the property.
Police Investigate Spate of Similar Robberies
Thiele noted that the thieves were well-prepared, wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints and balaclavas to conceal their identities. He expressed hope that the car will eventually be reported if dumped by the thieves.
Police have confirmed that there has been a spate of similar robberies occurring on Sunday morning, indicating a potential pattern of criminal activity in the area. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior immediately.
