The beloved children's entertainment group The Wiggles is celebrating a joyous family milestone, with Yellow Wiggle Evie Ferris announcing her engagement to fellow group member and dancer Zane Powell.

The couple chose a special day to reveal their happy news, posting a joint announcement on Instagram on Christmas Day. They captioned the post simply and joyfully: “Best Christmas yet!!” The proposal itself took place a week earlier, on December 17, at Sydney’s iconic Balmoral Beach, setting the scene for a perfect summer engagement.

The announcement was met with immediate and heartfelt congratulations from their colleagues and the wider Wiggles community. Purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie commented, “Soooo beautiful. Congratulations you are both such beautiful people.” Fellow Yellow Wiggle Tsehay Hawkins expressed her excitement, writing, “So happy for you both. Love you guys so much.” Another purple skivvy-wearer, John Pearce, added, “Yayyyy congratulations guys!! We are soo excited.”

Evie Ferris, a accomplished ballet dancer, first joined The Wiggles in 2021. She initially appeared in the expanded Fruit Salad TV lineup before becoming a core member of the main group. Ferris started her on-screen journey in the blue skivvy but later made the switch to yellow. In a significant milestone, she is recognised as the first First Nations member to join the main Wiggles ensemble.
Speaking to the ABC in August 2021 about her role, Ferris highlighted its importance, saying, “It is pretty exciting, my five-year-old self is still not believing her eyes right now.” She added, “Being representative and that beacon of hope, a role model for Indigenous kids around Australia is important. I want them to believe they can do anything.”

Meanwhile, her new fiancé, Zane Powell, has built his own career within The Wiggles universe. He has contributed to the group's vibrant live shows and video productions as a background dancer and in various character roles across multiple tours and specials.
