Tanya Hennessy's Christmas baby after 7-year struggle

Australian comedian and media personality Tanya Hennessy has shared the joyous news of her daughter's arrival, marking the end of a gruelling seven-year battle with infertility. The baby girl, named Scottie Jack Poole, was born on Christmas Day, a moment Hennessy described as making her heart "explode" with happiness.

A Long-Awaited Arrival on Christmas Day

Hennessy, 40, announced the birth on her social media on December 25, 2025, posting a heartfelt image of herself cradling her newborn. "Our beautiful baby girl is finally here," she wrote in the caption. The radio star expressed overwhelming bliss, stating, "I'm in heaven, my heart is exploding. My baby is here. My baby. She's everything and more and I've never been so blissfully happy in my life."

The journey to motherhood was an arduous one for Hennessy and her husband, Tom Poole. After trying to conceive for several years, Hennessy was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. This diagnosis led to multiple surgeries to manage the condition, followed by an emotionally and physically draining seven rounds of IVF treatment.

The Gruelling Path to Pregnancy

Hennessy has been remarkably open about her fertility struggles, sharing the highs and lows with her audience. She first revealed her pregnancy in July 2025, posting a sonogram video with the caption, "After seven years of trying, we finally have our baby on the way." In an interview with Body and Soul magazine, she reflected on the painful chapter, noting she had spent a reported $120,000 on medical treatments.

"I'm really happy that the chapter of infertility has hopefully closed for me," Hennessy said. "I've been really sad – really tragically sad – for seven years. I'm ready for some joy." Her announcement post also featured a touching photo of her husband Tom beaming as he held their daughter for the first time.

Celebrity Well-Wishes and a Social Media Pause

The news was met with an outpouring of love from fellow celebrities and influencers. Neighbours star Olympia Vallance commented, "She's perfect," while model and KIC app CEO Steph Claire Smith offered congratulations. Television presenter Bec Judd enthusiastically wrote, "Yewwwwwwwww- ❤️❤️❤️❤️."

Hennessy indicated she would share more details about baby Scottie in time but plans to savour the newborn moments away from the spotlight. "I'll post more later, but right now my baby is here," she shared on her Instagram story. "I've waited so long for her. So I'm gunna stay in this bubble a bit longer." Her story stands as a beacon of hope for many facing similar challenges with infertility.
