In a heartwarming pre-Christmas announcement, beloved MasterChef Australia stars Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary have revealed they are now proud parents to twin baby girls. The couple shared their joyous news with fans on Wednesday, December 24th, just one day before Christmas.
A Festive Family Announcement
The television personalities made the announcement via a joint post on Instagram, introducing their newborn daughters to the world. The couple chose the names Claudia and Charlotte for their little ones. Alongside a sweet photograph of the twins, the new parents wrote a festive message to their followers: "Merry Christmas from our family to yours."
This happy news comes just months after the couple first shared they were expecting. They initially announced they were starting a family together in October, later delighting fans with the revelation they were having twins.
From the MasterChef Kitchen to a Growing Family
The couple's romance blossomed after they appeared on this year's season of MasterChef Australia: Back to Win. In an interview with Stellar magazine in June, Cleary described their relationship as natural and unhurried. "Nothing was ever rushed or forced — we just enjoyed spending time together," he said, noting that Todd, being from Melbourne, showed him around.
Their outings included trips to the beach, go-karting, and many shared dinners. Cleary confessed his feelings for Todd when she faced elimination during the competition. Although the timing was less than ideal, Todd quickly realised her feelings were mutual.
In a creative November gender reveal, the couple posted a golf-themed update on Instagram, playfully captioning it: "What’s better than a hole in one, two holes in one!"
Building a Life in Melbourne
Since their relationship became serious, Cleary has relocated from Sydney to Melbourne to live with Todd and her 14-year-old son, Phoenix, from a previous relationship. The family is now happily settled with their two newest additions.
Both chefs have strong histories with the MasterChef franchise. Cleary first entered the kitchen as a contestant on season 15 in 2023. For Todd, this year marked her third appearance on the show; she first competed in 2014 on season six and returned in 2022 for the MasterChef Australia: Fans and Favourites season. Todd is now a mother of three.
The arrival of Claudia and Charlotte caps off a remarkable year for the couple, transforming their MasterChef connection into a lasting partnership and a beautiful, growing family just in time for the holidays.
