Police Hunt Gunman After Shots Fired at Melbourne Brothel

Police are searching for a gunman after multiple shots were fired at a Melbourne brothel in the early hours of Thursday morning. The incident occurred at the Gotham City Brothel on Clarke Street in South Melbourne around 1:45am, when at least four shots were discharged from a moving vehicle.

Details of the Shooting

The bullets struck a roller door and a parked car. Fortunately, no one inside the brothel was injured, and the parked car was unoccupied at the time. The shooter fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Investigators remain on site, and a large section of Clarke Street has been closed as a crime scene is established. At least four bullet casings were found outside the establishment.

Possible Connection to Ongoing Violence

It is not yet clear whether this shooting is linked to the series of firebombings and violent incidents that have plagued Melbourne’s hospitality venues in recent weeks. More than a dozen bars and pubs have been firebombed over the past fortnight, alongside kidnappings and other assaults. In response, police recently established a new unit to address this specific threat.

Authorities have not confirmed any connection between this latest incident and the ongoing turf war.

Appeal for Information

Police urge anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
