A man has appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court following an alleged incident involving a utility vehicle and stolen number plates in Canberra. The 33-year-old from the suburb of Charnwood was arrested on Tuesday after police responded to reports of a disturbance in the Belconnen area.
Details of the Incident
According to police, the accused was allegedly driving a white Holden ute with stolen registration plates when he was involved in a confrontation with another motorist. Witnesses reported that the man exited his vehicle and approached the other driver in an aggressive manner. Police later located the ute and arrested the man without incident.
Charges Laid
The man has been charged with several offences, including driving an unregistered vehicle, using stolen number plates, and behaving in an offensive manner. He was also charged with possessing a prohibited substance after police allegedly found a small amount of cannabis in his possession.
He was granted bail and is scheduled to reappear in court next month. The stolen plates were reportedly taken from a vehicle in the suburb of Kambah earlier this month.
