Fremantle Dockers forward Patrick Voss is set for an instant recall to the senior side for Saturday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium. The 20-year-old has flown east to join the squad after impressing in the WAFL, where he kicked three goals for Peel Thunder last weekend.
Voss returns after impressive WAFL form
Voss, who played two games earlier this season, was omitted after round 10 but has forced his way back into selection contention with consistent performances. His recall comes as the Dockers look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Geelong, with coach Justin Longmuir seeking more scoring power inside 50.
Dockers aim to boost forward line
Fremantle have struggled to convert opportunities in recent weeks, and Voss’s ability to provide a strong marking target and goal sense could be crucial against a Bulldogs defence that has been vulnerable at times. The Dockers are expected to make multiple changes, with veteran Michael Walters also pushing for selection after a strong WAFL outing.
Voss’s inclusion adds depth to a forward line that already features the likes of Luke Jackson and Jye Amiss. The Dockers will be hoping his energy and aerial presence can help them secure a vital win to keep their finals hopes alive.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will be without star midfielder Tom Liberatore, who has been ruled out with a concussion. Fremantle will look to exploit this absence through the middle of the ground.
The match is set to be a crucial encounter for both sides, with the Dockers sitting 12th on the ladder and the Bulldogs 10th, both fighting for a spot in the top eight.
