Emergency services were called to a home on Akebia Street in Arana Hills, where the teenager was armed with a knife and experiencing a mental health episode. The officer who fired the weapon was a first-year constable. Police confirmed that a taser was deployed during the incident, and the timing of its use will be part of the investigation.
