Grave fears are held for the passenger of a car after it became submerged in a weir south of Sydney. The vehicle is believed to have crashed into the Audley Weir in the Royal National Park about 1:15am on Wednesday.
Driver escapes, passenger trapped
The 20-year-old male driver was able to escape the sunken vehicle, while his passenger was trapped inside. A search is now underway for the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, alongside an investigation into how the crash occurred.
The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
