Queensland Man Faces Attempted Murder and Torture Charges After Alleged Assault
A 32-year-old man from Benarkin, Queensland, has been charged with attempted murder and torture following a violent incident in Linville, located north of Brisbane. Police allege that the man assaulted a 46-year-old woman at a property in Linville around 1:20 AM on Sunday.
Details of the Alleged Assault and Charges
According to authorities, the man allegedly tortured the woman and prevented her from leaving the residence where the assault occurred. Queensland Ambulance Services were called to the scene and treated the woman for head and arm injuries. She was transported in stable condition to Caboolture Hospital, where she is currently receiving professional medical support.
Police have stated that the pair were known to each other, adding context to the incident. The man has been charged with six offences, including two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, and one count each of attempted murder, torture, and deprivation of liberty unlawfully detained.
