Guilty Pleas Entered in Huskisson Street Violence
Two men are now awaiting sentencing after admitting their involvement in a large-scale public brawl that erupted on Huskisson's main street earlier this year. The incident, which saw eight people ultimately charged, occurred along Owen Street between 9:10pm and 9:30pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Court Proceedings and Sentencing Timeline
Nathan Martin Secker, a 26-year-old from North Nowra, entered guilty pleas to multiple charges when he appeared before Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, November 25. The court heard he admitted to affray, possession of an unauthorised pistol, and possession of prescribed restricted substances.
The magistrate ordered a full sentencing assessment report for Secker, who will return to court for sentencing on January 20, 2026.
Another defendant, Timothy William Askew from Jervis Bay, had his original affray charge withdrawn. However, the 19-year-old pleaded guilty to the alternative charge of using violence to cause fear in a group of more than three people. Askew is also scheduled for sentencing on January 20, 2026.
Co-Accused Defendants Face Lengthy Court Process
While two defendants have admitted guilt, several co-accused remain before the courts with hearing dates stretching into 2026.
The remaining cases include:
- Daniel Keating, 52, of Woollamia, and Blake Keating, 24, of Thirlmere, scheduled for hearings on April 14 and 15, 2026
- Creed Dann, 21, of Sanctuary Point, due to face court on April 15 and 16, 2026
- Brayden Chigozie Jade Omoeboh, 23, of Nowra, and Basin View residents Graeme Anthony McGilvray, 38, and Danahi McGilvray, 19, who have previously pleaded not guilty
These three defendants who entered not guilty pleas will return to court for mention of their cases on December 9.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and group violence in the Shoalhaven region, with the court process expected to continue well into 2026 as all matters are resolved.
