A 26-year-old man who vanished after leaving a medical facility in southern Sydney may now be in the northern Illawarra region, according to authorities. Hafiz Muhammad Junaid Mashood was last seen in Sutherland around 12:35 am on Friday, February 13, and police have raised alarms over his welfare, stating his disappearance is highly unusual and out of character.

NSW Police have issued a public appeal for information, emphasizing that both law enforcement and family members hold grave concerns for Hafiz's safety. "Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as Hafiz's disappearance is out of character," a spokesperson confirmed. The young man, of Indian sub-continental appearance, stands between 170 and 175 centimetres tall with a thin build, short black hair, brown eyes, and an unshaven face.

At the time of his disappearance, Hafiz was wearing a black hooded jumper, blue shorts, blue thongs, and was carrying a light tan coloured backpack. Police note that he is known to frequent several areas, including Otford, Granville, Liverpool, Sutherland Shire, and the Nepean region. This has led investigators to focus particularly on the Otford area in the northern Illawarra as a potential location where he might be found.
