A family holiday on the New South Wales mid-north coast has ended in unimaginable tragedy after a four-year-old boy died following a pool incident at a popular coastal area.
Emergency Response at Bobs Farm
Emergency services were called to a property in Bobs Farm, Port Stephens, at approximately 7:30pm on Friday evening. The call reported that a young child was found unconscious and unresponsive in a swimming pool.
Upon receiving the urgent call, paramedics and police rushed to the scene. In the critical minutes before professional help arrived, distraught family members immediately began performing CPR on the boy in a desperate attempt to save his life.
Rush to Hospital and Tragic Outcome
When NSW Ambulance paramedics reached the property, they took over the resuscitation efforts. The boy was then transported in a critical condition to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, one of the region's major trauma centres.
Despite the best efforts of his family, paramedics, and hospital staff, the young child could not be revived. He was later pronounced dead, leaving the local community and holidaymakers in the Port Stephens area heartbroken.

NSW Police have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report is currently being prepared for the Coroner, which is standard procedure following any unexpected or accidental death.
