Perth's own Chicken Treat is making waves once again with its latest culinary creation that defies traditional fast food boundaries. The Western Australian-founded chain has just launched Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, a daring fusion that packages the iconic flavours of an American cheeseburger inside the crispy, golden shell of an Asian spring roll.
A Bold Fusion of Two Favourites
Believed to be the first quick service restaurant in Australia to offer such a product, Chicken Treat continues its tradition of thinking outside what Head of Marketing David Harrison calls the 'salt-speckled box'. The new menu item represents the brand's ongoing mission to inject fun and innovation into fast food dining.
'We're on a mission to make food fun again,' Mr Harrison told PerthNow. 'Chicken Treat is known for our unapologetically indulgent food and Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are a real head-turner.'
The innovative snack features a carefully crafted filling that includes juicy beef, melted cheese, onion, pickle, mustard and tomato sauce - all the essential components that make a classic cheeseburger so beloved, now reimagined in finger-food form.
Not Their First Rodeo
This isn't Chicken Treat's initial venture into unconventional food combinations. Regular customers might recall the chain's previous limited-time offering, the Chicow Burger, which featured two crispy chicken patties combined with a beef patty, three cheese slices, and Cola BBQ sauce.
The brand has built something of a reputation for brave culinary mashups, having previously introduced Donut Chips and combined their popular Stingin' Maple and Baconary sauces. 'We've combined chips and donuts, and two of our most popular sauces in Stingin' Maple and Baconary which customers have loved,' Mr Harrison added, expressing confidence that the cheeseburger and spring roll combination might be their most successful fusion yet.
Western Australian Exclusive
For now, the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls remain an exclusive offering for Western Australian customers. The product is available at all Chicken Treat locations across WA, including their most recently opened stores in Ocean Reef and Golden Bay.
The launch continues Chicken Treat's pattern of introducing unexpected menu items that generate buzz and conversation among fast food enthusiasts. While the chicken-focused chain occasionally ventures into beef territory, it does so with the same innovative spirit that has characterized its most memorable limited-time offerings.
Food mashups have become increasingly popular in Australia's competitive fast food landscape, but Chicken Treat's approach of combining distinctly different culinary traditions demonstrates their commitment to pushing boundaries. The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls represent not just a new menu item, but the latest chapter in the brand's story of culinary experimentation.
