TV Host's Wife Reveals Childhood Rape by Father Amid Online Abuse Scandal

The much younger wife of a popular British television host has courageously revealed she endured years of sexual abuse at the hands of her own father, speaking out after a disturbing global network of men sharing tips on drugging and raping women was exposed.

Bravely Breaking Her Silence

Katie Dadzie, 35, who is married to 63-year-old Nick Knowles, star of the cult UK home renovation show DIY SOS, had previously only alluded to having a "difficult" relationship with her father, who died when she was 18. The businesswoman and mother-of-two has now publicly disclosed the horrific abuse she suffered as a child, stating clearly: "I was raped by my dad for years, years and years."

Mrs Knowles, who married her famous husband in a lavish six-figure ceremony last June, made the shocking revelation while discussing the global "online rape academy" scandal. This hidden network, recently exposed by CNN, involved men sharing techniques for drugging and raping women across digital platforms.

Connection to Disturbing Online Network

In a video filmed inside her car, Mrs Knowles expressed her horror at learning about a Telegram group named "Zzz" with 1,000 members sharing 20,000 "sleep" videos depicting sedated women having non-consensual sex acts performed on them. "I have never spoken about this publicly, other than to friends, family and even then not everyone," she confessed before revealing her personal trauma.

Despite undergoing intensive therapy, Mrs Knowles explained that "there are times when it comes up," adding that the recent report highlighted how "we [women] should be worried looking at the news." She continued with a powerful observation: "Looking at it, it's not all men, but it is. It is men. It is men who commit the majority of domestic violence and sexual abuse."

The Reality of Everyday Fear

The mother-of-two described the terrifying reality many women face daily, sharing: "It's a terrifying world sometimes to think being a woman is like this, where I walked from the gym back to the car and I had my keys like this [tightly gripped] in my hand." She explained her gym attire of sports bra and shorts wasn't "asking for attention or rape" but rather practical for her menopausal symptoms, yet she remained hyper-aware of potential danger.

"In my case it was a man," Mrs Knowles stated. "It's almost always in sexual abuse like that: someone that you know, or a family member, or a partner, or an ex-partner. Almost always." She concluded her video by asserting "we shouldn't have to worry anymore," yet acknowledged the uncovering of the global "online rape academy" proves women remain targets today just as during her own childhood ordeal.

Social Media Response and Personal Background

Alongside her video, Mrs Knowles shared a lengthy caption expressing dismay at the 62 million page views the horrifying Telegram group received. "We spend so much of our lives being told to protect ourselves from the outside world," she wrote, listing common precautions women take. "And yet, sometimes the danger is already inside the house."

Her post received overwhelming support, with many validating her experience and expressing how "many women have been overwhelmed by the recent news." Comments ranged from "I'm so sorry this happened to you" to gratitude for her bravery in sharing such a personal story.

Mrs Knowles has two daughters from a previous relationship, while her TV star husband has four children from three different relationships. The couple met in 2019 when their children became playmates but didn't begin dating until 2021 when they "bumped into each other" while both single. "And that was that," Nick Knowles previously told Closer magazine. "It's very handy to have kids the same ages – they play together really well, which is lovely."

The businesswoman's decision to speak out highlights the ongoing prevalence of sexual violence against women, both within families and through organized online networks, emphasizing that for countless victims, "the danger is already inside the house" long before they encounter external threats.
