A 43-year-old van driver is assisting police with their inquiries following a serious hit and run incident in Perth's northern suburbs that has left a 60-year-old cyclist fighting for life.
Details of the Westminster Collision
The incident occurred on Monday, 15 December 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm. According to Western Australia Police, a white Mitsubishi panel van collided with the cyclist on Wanneroo Road, near the intersection of Amberley Way in Westminster.
The driver failed to stop at the scene and fled immediately following the collision. However, the 43-year-old man returned a short time later and is now cooperating with investigators from the Major Crash unit.
Cyclist Rushed to Hospital with Life-Threatening Injuries
The cyclist, a 60-year-old man, sustained critical, life-threatening injuries in the crash. Emergency services rushed him to Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition receiving urgent medical treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area on Wanneroo Road as forensic officers examine the scene to piece together the exact circumstances of the collision.
