The Townsville community is reeling from the tragic loss of a beloved local woman, killed in a devastating two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway. Tania Maree Langton, 49, is being remembered as a person with a "heart of gold" whose sudden death has left a profound void.

The fatal incident occurred around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, April 22, on the Bruce Highway at Yabulu, north of Townsville. According to Queensland Police, the crash involved a Toyota LandCruiser and a Mazda BT-50 utility. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Tania Langton, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 51-year-old Burdell man, was transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota, a 19-year-old Rollingstone man, was physically unharmed. The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
