Bizarre Twist: Abusive Voicemail Left by Aggressor
In a strange turn of events, the enraged motorist then called the phone number printed on the side of the work van to unleash an abusive tirade. In the voicemail message, the man can be heard saying, "Call your driver to use his f***ing blinker because he's an imbecile." This act has provided investigators with a potential lead, as the driver left their own phone number on the recording.
Victim's Harrowing Account of the Chase
Carpet cleaner Matthew Walshaw told 7NEWS he was desperately trying to escape the angry driver during the incident. "To be honest I just wanted to get away from him. My only instinct was to get away from him," he said. Walshaw described how the sedan followed him bumper to bumper, overtook him, slammed on the brakes, and chased him into the emergency lane and off the motorway. He expressed feeling "pretty anxious" and remains unsure why he was targeted, speculating, "(I'm) not sure why he targeted me, clearly he was just impatient."
