Young rider dies in tragic Warilla collision
A 20-year-old man has lost his life following a devastating collision between his motorbike and a stationary vehicle in the Illawarra suburb of Warilla.
The fatal incident occurred on Monday, January 19, at approximately 7:45pm on Bradman Avenue. According to NSW Police, the motorcycle slammed into the rear of a parked and unoccupied Volkswagen panel van.
Police investigation underway
Officers from the Lake Illawarra Police District were called to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the motorbike rider had suffered fatal injuries and died at the location.
Police immediately established a crime scene as they launched an investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. A spokesperson confirmed that a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
