Disturbing security footage has emerged of a shocking hit-and-run incident in Mandurah, south of Perth, which left an 18-year-old man injured after being struck by a car travelling on the wrong side of the road.

Confronting Footage Captures the Moment of Impact

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon on Mandurah Terrace. The video, which is now part of a police investigation, shows a white Toyota RAV4 driving on the incorrect side of the road.

The vehicle is seen striking 18-year-old TJ Wells with significant force. The impact sent Wells flying into the air before he landed back on the road surface. His friends, who were nearby, were left in a state of shock and immediately rushed to his aid.

Teenager's Injuries and Recovery

TJ Wells suffered a gash to the side of his head, along with various scratches and bruises. He was transported to Peel Health Campus for medical treatment.

Fortunately, he was not seriously injured and has been released from hospital. Wells is now recovering at his home. Despite the confronting nature of the video, Wells has expressed a desire for the full vision to be shown publicly.

Police Hunt for Fleeing Driver

WA Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident. When asked by 7NEWS if the driver of the white Toyota had been located, police stated that, at this point, their inquiries are ongoing.

The driver failed to stop at the scene, making this a serious hit-and-run offence. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to come forward to assist with their investigation.
