FRNSW Safety Warnings

Fire Rescue NSW has issued urgent safety reminders regarding Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders, which can be "extremely dangerous" if not used or stored properly. Key warnings include:

  • Never use LPG cylinders indoors or in confined spaces.
  • Avoid using cylinders in windy conditions.
  • Do not connect or disconnect cylinders near naked flames.
  • Always shut off the cylinder valve before disconnecting the bottle from a BBQ.

FRNSW advises that if you smell the strong scent of gas, you should call triple-0 immediately for emergency assistance.
