Perth Nurses Win $1.5M Lotto Jackpot After Syndicate Born at Chinese Restaurant
Perth nurses win $1.5m Lotto from lunch syndicate

A routine lunch at a favourite local Chinese restaurant has culminated in a life-altering windfall for a dedicated team of 11 Perth nurses, who are now sharing a massive $1.5 million Saturday Lotto prize.

A Syndicate Forged Over a Lazy Susan

The remarkable win traces its origins back more than three years to a meal shared among colleagues. "We were all sat around the Lazy Susan at our local Chinese restaurant enjoying a meal when one of our colleagues suggested we start playing Lotto together," one of the elated winners recalled. That casual suggestion over lunch transformed into a steadfast syndicate, with the group continuing to frequent the same restaurant as a team. Their patience and consistency have now paid off in spectacular fashion.

"That lunch was three years ago now, and we still go to that restaurant regularly as a team," the winner said. "It’s so exciting for everyone in our group to have won a share in this prize. It’s going to be life-changing for all of us." The nurses plan to return to the restaurant that started it all to properly celebrate their incredible good fortune.

Western Australia's Lucky Draw

The group's winning ticket was one of four division one entries in the Super Saturday draw #4635 on 22 December 2025, with three of those top prizes landed in Western Australia. The nurses purchased their life-changing slip from the Carramar Lottery Centre in Morley.

The other WA division one winners came from:

  • Newsxpress Halls Head
  • A Lotterywest network syndicate

A fourth winning ticket was sold interstate in Queensland.

The draw proved particularly fruitful for the state, with 12 WA punters also claiming division two prizes. Six individuals each won $13,991.15, while the remaining prizes were shared among other syndicates.

Perfect Timing for Other Winners

The lottery joy spread across the state, bringing early Christmas cheer to other winners. A FIFO worker from Perth's northern suburbs claimed $122,000 from the Lotterywest network syndicate with a ticket bought from Lucky Charm South Hedland.

For him, the windfall arrived at a perfect moment. "It’s our daughter’s first birthday in a few days, which is now going to be an extra amazing day for my wife and I and our little girl," he shared. "We are over the moon with this win... we’re going to enjoy a small trip away together to relax and soak it all in as a family."

The winning numbers for draw #4635 were 8, 32, 31, 19, 43, 41, with the supplementary numbers 14 and 6. For those who missed out, the upcoming Saturday Megadraw on 3 January boasts a staggering $30 million jackpot up for grabs.
