Concert-goers planning to see Crowded House in the Swan Valley this weekend are being advised to leave the car at home, with organisers pushing shuttle buses as the best way to travel to the sold-out event.
Major Traffic Expected for Historic Show
Thousands of fans are expected to descend on Sandalford Wines this Saturday, December 6, for what promises to be a landmark performance. The iconic rock band will headline the opening concert of the winery's Red Hot Summer Tour series.
This event is projected to be the largest Perth audience for Crowded House since the band reformed following their famous 1995 Opera House concert in Sydney. They will be supported by a stellar line-up including Angus & Julie Stone, The Church, Mark Seymour with Vika & Linda, The Waifs, Jae Laffer, and The Murphy Brothers.
Organisers Urge Public Transport Use
To manage the influx, event organisers have created three separate routes for vehicles entering and exiting the venue. Dedicated lanes will be in place for general cars, VIPs, and ride-share vehicles and buses.
Despite these measures, Sandalford Wines' CEO Grant Brinklow has a clear message for ticket holders. "The easiest and fastest way to enjoy a concert at the winery is to arrive and leave via bus," Mr Brinklow said. He emphasised that pre-booking a shuttle allows fans to "forget the drive and focus on the experience."
How to Book Your Bus Ticket
Plenty of bus tickets remain available from stops across Perth and the Peel region. These can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com until 3pm on Friday, December 5. After that, they will be sold directly from the BusWest office on Saturday.
For locals in Perth and Mandurah, return BusWest tickets are still on offer. Each bus is scheduled to depart from the venue just 20 minutes after the show concludes on Saturday evening.
A separate, more flexible shuttle service will also operate between Guildford Station and Sandalford Wines. This return trip costs $10, payable in cash to the driver on the day, and requires no prior booking.
These shuttle services will run from 12pm to 5pm to bring passengers to the venue, with return trips commencing after the concert to take everyone back to the station.
With the concert completely sold out, authorities are urging all attendees to plan their journey carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable start to the summer concert season in the Swan Valley.
