A stunning spectacle unfolded on Perth's Swan River this Friday as more than 70 luxury vessels from the renowned brand Riviera converged on Matilda Bay. The boats rafted up together to form a distinctive horse shoe shape, marking one of the city's most anticipated annual events on the water.
A Multi-Million Dollar Gathering on the Water
The collective value of the impressive fleet was in excess of $50 million, highlighting the scale and exclusivity of the Riviera Perth Raft Up. The event has firmly cemented itself as a key date in the local social calendar, drawing enthusiasts from across the state.
Ryan Lloyd, the Retail Sales Manager at R Marine Perth, explained the exclusive nature of the gathering earlier this week. He noted there were "only two ways to secure a ticket" to the coveted event: either own a Riviera or know someone who does.
"It's a great day out, and all our owners love gathering together and hopping between each other's yachts, renewing and making new friendships," Mr Lloyd said. He proudly described the Raft Up as a "wonderful showcase of the West Australian way of life."
New Owners Join the Exclusive Ranks
Among the participants this year was first-time attendee Adam Burvill, a Perth boat enthusiast and business owner. Mr Burvill strategically timed his purchase to ensure he wouldn't miss out on the iconic event.
"I've been a guest on my in-laws' yacht before, but this will be my first time as a Riviera owner myself," he shared. "I knew I had to get my hands on a Riviera before December so I could make the Raft Up. I bought my boat two weeks ago." His story underscores the event's powerful draw and its status as a milestone for luxury boat owners in the region.
A Showcase of Lifestyle and Community
The Riviera Raft Up is more than just a display of wealth; it's a celebrated social occasion that fosters a strong sense of community among owners. The sight of the meticulously arranged vessels against the backdrop of the Perth skyline and the Swan River creates a memorable image that encapsulates a premium aspect of coastal living in Western Australia.
The event's continued growth and dedicated following confirm its place as a highlight of Perth's summer, blending nautical passion with high-end social interaction on one of the city's most beautiful waterways.
