A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a police officer during a disturbance in Dawesville early on Sunday morning.

Incident details

The incident occurred around 4am when police were called to a home on Aldersyde Centre following reports of a disturbance. Several individuals were causing a disturbance at the scene.

While officers were attending the call, a 25-year-old man allegedly punched a police officer in the face. The officer was taken to Peel Health Campus by St John WA for treatment and has since been released.

Charges and court appearance

The man was arrested and charged with one count of assaulting a public officer. He is scheduled to appear before Mandurah Magistrates Court on June 5.
