Two men have been charged with grievous bodily harm following a shooting incident in Townsville on Sunday night that left a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Incident Details
Police allege that around 9:30 PM, a 29-year-old woman was shot in the leg at a residence in the suburb of Kirwan. The woman was transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Arrests and Charges
Following investigations, detectives from the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch arrested two men, aged 22 and 23, on Monday. They have been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm. The pair were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Detective Acting Inspector Andrew Ryan said the shooting was believed to be a targeted attack, not a random act of violence. He urged anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
