Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a disturbing incident at Belconnen Mall on Saturday evening, where an 18-year-old man allegedly removed his clothing and ran through the shopping centre, assaulting multiple people.

At approximately 5.15pm on May 16, 2026, the man is alleged to have stripped naked and sprinted through the mall. According to ACT Policing, he is accused of assaulting several individuals and committing indecent acts in the presence of bystanders, including young children.
Restraint and Ongoing Investigation
The 18-year-old was restrained shortly after the incident through a combined effort involving police, security officers, and a member of the public. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, and authorities are working to identify all those affected.
