Australian rock band Spiderbait has announced an additional Newcastle show as part of their tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic album 'Ivy and the Big Apples.' The band will perform at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
Tour Expansion
The Newcastle date was added due to overwhelming demand, joining previously announced shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The tour commemorates three decades since the release of the album that launched Spiderbait into the national spotlight.
Album Legacy
'Ivy and the Big Apples,' released in 1993, features hits such as 'Buy Me a Pony' and 'Calypso.' The album was a critical and commercial success, earning the band a loyal following and establishing their signature blend of alternative rock and punk.
Spiderbait, formed in 1989 in Finley, New South Wales, consists of Kram (drums, vocals), Janet English (bass, vocals), and Damian Whitty (guitar, vocals). The band has released nine studio albums and won multiple awards, including an ARIA Award for Best Independent Release.
