Pink Rings in 2026 from Hospital Bed After Neck Surgery
Pink has neck surgery, spends New Year's Eve in hospital

Global pop superstar Pink has ushered in the new year from an unexpected location: a hospital bed. The singer revealed she underwent surgery to address a neck injury, choosing to focus on her health as 2025 came to a close.

A Solitary Start to 2026

In a candid Instagram post shared on Wednesday, the artist disclosed she had just had an operation to add "two shiny new discs" to her neck. She spent New Year's Eve by herself in her hospital room, while her family enjoyed a snowboarding holiday.

"Rock 'n' roll is a contact sport," Pink wrote, acknowledging the physical toll of her high-energy career. Despite the solitary and painful circumstances, she struck a defiantly optimistic note for the year ahead. "I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made," she stated.

Choosing Joy After a Year of Highs and Lows

The surgery, common among performers, is designed to relieve pain and preserve spinal motion, often crucial for sustaining a singing career. It typically addresses issues like herniated or degenerative discs that can press on nerves, causing pain, numbness, or weakness.

Pink used her post to reflect on the past year, describing it as a tough one filled with ups and downs, but also "so much beauty." She emphasised her decision to leave all her "hurt" in 2025. Central to her gratitude was her family: husband Carey Hart and their two children, 14-year-old Willow and 7-year-old Jameson Moon.

"Being able to love my kids and help them follow their dreams was the greatest gift," she shared, celebrating the "beautiful messiness" of family life.

Family Moments and Looking Forward

One clear highlight of her year was watching her daughter Willow's show-stopping performance. In September, Willow joined her mother and Hugh Jackman on stage at New York's Radio City Music Hall for a rendition of 'A Million Dreams' from *The Greatest Showman*. The trio also performed Pink's hit 'Who Knew'.

Pink noted she had farewelled important people and welcomed new ones in 2025. Ultimately, she ended the year by listening to her body and taking necessary action. "It may not be a fancy facelift but I am getting two new shiny discs in my body," she wrote.

Her message concluded with a powerful commitment to self-care and positivity for her fans and herself: "Let's not be afraid to take care of ourselves and others... I'm going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones. And I'm going to rage against the dying of the light."
