Australian actress Nicole Kidman has embraced her first major holiday since finalising her divorce from country music star Keith Urban, focusing on family traditions and charitable activities.
Family Bonding Through Charity
Three months after her separation from Urban, Kidman participated in the Boulevard Bolt charity run in Nashville, Tennessee alongside her daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14. The Thanksgiving event saw the mother-daughter trio wearing matching tops for the annual community fundraiser.
Kidman shared her gratitude simply on Instagram with a photo captioned: "So thankful... xx." The charity run represents a long-standing tradition in Nashville, with all proceeds directed toward local agencies working to end homelessness.
Leaning on Family Support
The Babygirl star hasn't faced her post-divorce journey alone. Her sister Antonia and extended family also participated in the Thanksgiving event, sporting coordinated turkey-themed T-shirts for the worthy cause.
In her first personal update since the separation during a conversation with Ariana Grande for Interview magazine, Kidman reflected on her current state of mind, stating she was "hanging in there."
The actress has found comfort not only in her biological family but also in her professional relationships. While filming Practical Magic 2 during the early stages of her separation, Kidman noted the importance of her co-stars' support.
"A lot of times I don't have fun when I'm filming... but I have such a strong relationship with all those women, so I felt protected and loved," she shared.
Divorce Details and Arrangements
Kidman officially filed for divorce in Nashville on September 30, with the separation date listed as the same day. The couple's breakup after 19 years of marriage was attributed to irreconcilable differences according to reports.
The divorce filings obtained by TMZ reveal that Kidman, 58, is seeking primary custody of the children while not requesting child support from Urban, 57. Both parties listed their gross individual incomes as "exceeding $100,000 per month."
The former couple has established a holiday sharing arrangement where Kidman will have the children during odd-numbered years for Christmas and Thanksgiving, while Urban will take even-numbered years.
This structured approach to co-parenting demonstrates both parents' commitment to maintaining stability for their daughters despite the marriage dissolution.
