Laura Henshaw Welcomes Baby Boy Atlas, Shares Birth News on Instagram
Laura Henshaw welcomes baby boy Atlas

Popular Australian podcaster and influencer Laura Henshaw has announced the joyful arrival of her first child, a baby boy named Atlas. Henshaw shared the news with her followers on Instagram on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025.

A Social Media Announcement Filled with Love

Laura Henshaw took to social media to reveal her son's safe arrival, posting a heartfelt photo. The image showed Henshaw in bed with her husband, Dalton Henshaw, while their newborn rested on her chest wearing a delicate knitted blue hat.

The caption accompanying the intimate family moment simply read: "Our whole world, baby Atlas ❤️". This marked the first time the couple publicly disclosed the name they had chosen, a detail they had kept closely guarded until the birth.

The announcement post was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from fellow Australian celebrities and fans alike. Notable well-wishers included Bec Judd, who commented "Congratulations Mum and Dad ❤️", and DJ Tigerlily, who added "Congratulations you two ❤️ what a blessing."

The Personal Journey Behind the Birth Plan

In recent episodes of her widely followed podcast, KICPOD, which she co-hosts with close friend Stephanie Miller, Henshaw had been open about her pregnancy journey. She specifically discussed her decision to opt for an elective caesarean, scheduled for 39 weeks.

Henshaw explained that her choice was not due to the baby's position, but was deeply personal. It was influenced by her own anxiety surrounding contractions, linked to a history of crippling period pain, and her husband Dalton's fear of potential complications during childbirth.

"I have decided that we’re going to have an elective caesarean," Henshaw had told her podcast audience, providing insight into a decision many expectant parents grapple with.

From Pregnancy Surprise to Choosing a Name

The journey to motherhood was an unexpected one for Henshaw. She revealed she had not planned to get pregnant and had even booked a laparoscopy in May 2025 to investigate suspected endometriosis, a condition she worried could affect her fertility.

The pregnancy news came as a surprise to many of her fans, as Henshaw had publicly explored her ambivalence about having children. In 2024, she dedicated a solo seven-part KICPOD series titled 'Do I Want Kids?' to examining the impact of parenthood on women's careers and personal lives.

Even the baby's name was a carefully considered decision. Henshaw previously shared on KICPOD that her favourite name, August, initially clashed with her husband's preference for Brooks. The couple eventually agreed on a different name entirely, which they vowed to keep secret until the birth—now revealed to be Atlas.

Laura Henshaw and Stephanie Miller launched KICPOD in March 2019. The podcast has built a massive audience by fostering deep conversations about wellness, mental health, and navigating life's various challenges.
