Kings Park Sign Spells 'Foothpath' Instead of Footpath in Embarrassing Typo
Kings Park Sign Spells 'Foothpath' in Embarrassing Typo

Visitors to Kings Park have been stopping for more than just the scenery this week after temporary works signs along a popular walking trail misspelled the word 'footpath'. The quirky typo caught the attention of eagle-eyed walkers, with visitors snapping pictures of the sign and the laughable attempt at crossing out the extra 'H' with a thin Texta, barely hiding the mistake.

The Misspelled Sign

The sign, which reads 'FOOTHPATH CLOSED', is located near the Karri Pavilion, currently undergoing path upgrade works and path removals to improve accessibility for visitors. A spokesperson for Kings Park confirmed that staff only recently became aware of the spelling blunder, but clarified that they were not responsible for the signs.

"The signs belong to the path works contractors and were installed by the contractors to manage their worksite," the spokesperson said. Kings Park confirmed it would contact the company to bring the misspelt signs to their attention and request they be corrected.

Visitor Reactions

Walkers have found the error amusing, with many taking photos to share on social media. Until the signs are corrected, visitors are advised that the footpath remains closed for construction work.
