An 87-year-old traffic warden has been allegedly pushed to the ground and robbed of his gear during an early morning assault outside a school in Perth's southern suburbs.

Incident Details

The victim was on duty patrolling Third Avenue in Rossmoyne just before 9am on Tuesday when a male stranger allegedly knocked him over, according to Western Australia Police.

The attacker stole the warden's hat and whistle before fleeing the scene outside Rossmoyne Primary School in a black Toyota LandCruiser Prado.

Community Assistance

Members of the public came to the elderly man's aid, and he was able to drive himself to a nearby residence. Police attended promptly and arranged medical assistance through St John Ambulance.

The warden was taken to hospital for medical assessment and treatment following the assault.

Suspect Description

Police are now searching for a male believed to be aged between 17 and 19 years. He is described as approximately 183 centimetres tall with a dark complexion, a black mullet hairstyle, and earrings.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or WA Police immediately.
