A Corrimal teenager accused of brandishing a knife and threatening supermarket employees after a string of alleged shoplifting incidents has faced court on multiple charges.
Emilianna Gaskon, 19, appeared before Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, May 12, where she entered guilty pleas to four counts of shoplifting.
However, she pleaded not guilty to charges of using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, intimidation, possessing a knife in a public place, and intimidating a retail worker.
Court documents revealed that Gaskon stole various grocery items from Coles in Corrimal on four separate occasions between March 21 and March 26.
The value of items taken during each theft ranged from $31 to $50, with the total value of stolen goods amounting to $169.65.
Police further allege that on March 26, Gaskon intimidated a Coles employee and was in possession of a knife at the Corrimal Village Shopping Centre.
It is also claimed that she threatened to use the weapon to avoid being detained.
Gaskon is scheduled to return to Wollongong Local Court on June 23.
