The world's biggest K-pop group BTS is heading back to Australia for the first time in nearly a decade. All seven members of the band are currently on their highly anticipated comeback tour and will bring their ARIRANG show to Sydney and Melbourne in February 2027. It will mark their first major performances Down Under since their Wings Tour in 2017.
In June 2022, BTS announced they were taking a break to pursue solo projects. In the years since, all members of the group — consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — also completed their mandatory South Korean military service enlistment.
Fans of the group, collectively known as ARMY, have been waiting in anticipation as each member was discharged last year, setting the stage for the group's return. In March, four years after their hiatus began, BTS officially announced their comeback. ARIRANG, the highly anticipated fifth studio album from the trailblazing K-pop group, serves as their first major group release since their break. The deeply reflective 14-track project explores themes of cultural identity and longing.
“We’ve waited more earnestly than anyone else,” the group’s leader RM said during the return announcement. “In 2026 we’ll make even more good memories, so look forward to it,” fellow band member V added. The album’s name pays tribute to the folk song of the same name, which is the first Korean song recorded by Korean men with American ethnologist Alice Fletcher in 1896.
The band kicked off their BTS WORLD TOUR: ARIRANG in April with shows in South Korea, marking their first headline performances since their Permission to Dance on Stage tour in 2021. BTS were formed in 2010 by entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment (now BigHit Music, a label under HYBE). The band is most recognised for hits like Butter and Dynamite.
The group will perform two shows in Melbourne on February 12 and 13, before heading to Sydney for two performances on February 20 and 21. Pre-sale registrations are now open for the BTS WORLD TOUR: ARIRANG IN AUSTRALIA. Head to Live Nation for all ticketing info.
