Perth's premier entertainment venue, RAC Arena, has achieved a remarkable hat-trick, securing the title of Australia's Best Indoor Arena for the third year running.
A Nail-Biting Public Vote Victory
The prestigious award was announced as part of the 2025 Austadiums' Stadium Awards, where the public decides the winners across six different categories. RAC Arena clinched the top spot with 29.3 per cent of the total vote, demonstrating its enduring popularity. The win was a close-fought contest, with the Perth venue edging out Melbourne's renowned Rod Laver Arena by a mere one per cent margin.
Austadiums highlighted the arena's winning formula, praising its modern facilities, excellent views from all seats, and a consistently strong calendar of major events. "The Perth arena's modern facilities, strong sightlines, and regular hosting of major concerts and sporting events have made it a standout in the indoor space," a spokesperson said.
A Stellar Year of World-Class Events
The award follows another blockbuster year for the venue, which played host to an impressive array of international superstars and premier sporting competitions. The stage was graced by global music icons including Kylie Minogue, Tyler, The Creator, and Katy Perry. On the sports and entertainment front, the arena was home to the Perth Wildcats basketball games and electrifying WWE wrestling spectacles.
RAC Arena's general manager, Michael Scott, said the triple-peat was a testament to the team's dedication and the support of Western Australian fans. "Being named Australia's Best Indoor Arena through public voting for the third year in a row is incredibly humbling," Scott stated. "It reflects the passion and energy from our team and the support of everyone who walks through our doors."
Looking Ahead to an Exciting 2026
The arena shows no signs of slowing down. It is currently in the spotlight as a host venue for the prestigious United Cup tennis tournament, bringing stars like Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Stan Wawrinka to Perth. This ongoing commitment to securing top-tier events underscores the venue's national status.
"We're proud to create unforgettable live experiences for the people of WA and look forward to welcoming even more world-class events to the venue in 2026," Scott added, signalling an exciting future for the award-winning facility.
In further good news for Perth's sporting infrastructure, Optus Stadium also claimed a victory at the awards, taking home the title of Best Stadium, cementing Western Australia's reputation for hosting premier events in world-class venues.
