Seabourn's 40th Anniversary: Big Polar Voyage Program for 2028-2029
Seabourn 40th Anniversary Polar Voyages 2028-2029

Seabourn is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an extensive program of northern and southern polar voyages for the 2028-2029 season, now open for sale. The season's departures aboard its two modern ultra-luxury expedition ships — Seabourn Venture (launched in 2022) and Seabourn Pursuit (2023) — range from eight to 96 days, visiting more than 180 destinations across 29 countries.

Arctic and Svalbard

Between April and September 2028, both ships will explore the Arctic across a broad range of itineraries spanning Svalbard, Greenland and its vast fjord systems, Iceland, the Canadian Arctic and Northwest Passage. These cruises are timed for extended daylight hours and favourable ice conditions. New Seabourn itineraries include a return to the dramatic landscapes of Svalbard on the 16-day Iceland, Norway and Svalbard Expedition, with round-trip voyages from Reykjavik departing June 26 and July 24, 2028. The 2028-29 season will be Seabourn's biggest-ever in the Arctic.

Antarctica, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Chilean Fjords

From October 2028 through March 2029, both expedition ships return to Antarctica with voyages ranging from 10 to 25 days. Peak whale activity occurs later in the season. New features include the 23-day Juan Fernandez Islands, Chilean Fjords and Antarctica itinerary, along with more multi-day landing opportunities, conditions permitting.

2028 Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole

Seabourn's second 96-day Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole sails from Reykjavik, Iceland to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The voyage traverses 147 degrees of latitude from the High Arctic to Antarctica in one continuous journey, visiting 14 countries and territories. It includes five days in Antarctica, three days in South Georgia, and three days in the Falkland Islands, with many opportunities for rare wildlife sightings such as polar bears, whales, penguins, seabirds, and more. Expedition and landside experiences are included, plus possible northern lights viewing. The fare includes a pre-cruise hotel stay in Reykjavik, charter flights, premium dining and drinks, and two complimentary kayak tours. The grand expedition aboard Seabourn Venture departs August 16, 2028 and is priced from $165,399 per person for a veranda suite. An 82-day option is also available.

Ship Specifications

Venture and Pursuit are custom-built exploration ships carrying up to 264 passengers. They are ice-rated PC6 vessels, meaning they can safely traverse the main polar cruise destinations in first-year ice conditions.

Seabourn president Mark Tamis said: "As Seabourn approaches its 40th anniversary, our 2028–2029 expedition season is designed for travellers who want to explore the world's most remote places in a deeper and more meaningful way."
