Canberra Builders Status Living Set New Standard with Dual Award Wins in 2025
Status Living Sets New Canberra Building Benchmark

Canberra's residential construction landscape has a new benchmark for excellence, set by the award-winning team at Status Living. The company's directors, Matthew Bellingham and Brent Redmayne, have cemented their reputation over more than 15 years as leaders in premium custom-built homes and sophisticated renovations.

Award-Winning Excellence Across the Board

This year, their consistent quality was formally recognised at the prestigious 2025 HIA-CSR ACT/Southern NSW Housing Awards. Status Living took home honours in diverse categories for two separate projects, proving their mastery extends from bespoke architectural masterpieces to beautifully finished spec homes.

Their crowning achievement was the Icon House in Deakin, designed by Turco & Associates. This project secured the top prize of Home of the Year, along with category wins for Custom Built Home of the Year and Custom Built Home $2m+. In a demonstration of their versatile skill, a spec home they built in Griffith, designed by Studio 187, won the Spec Home of the Year category and subsequently sold for a street record.

Reflecting on the dual wins, Matthew Bellingham highlighted the underlying principle of their work. "It's a reflection of the dedication and craftsmanship our team brings to every project," he said. "For us, excellence isn't determined by price; it's embedded in our process and our passion for what we do."

Foundations in Craftsmanship and Client Focus

The directors attribute their company's distinction to their hands-on beginnings and meticulous attention to detail. Both carpenters by trade, they believe this foundational discipline is key to managing complex, high-quality builds.

"Our standing in the industry is built on delivering superior quality of work because foundationally, our knowledge comes from our discipline as carpenters," explained Brent Redmayne. "We have an appreciation and understanding of how things should come together."

This technical expertise fuels a deeply collaborative approach with architects, designers, and their own team. However, Redmayne states that the Status Living difference also lies in an unwavering commitment to personalised service and client satisfaction.

"We do care, and that's why our clients choose us - for our candour and dedication to build their home in a way that makes the journey enjoyable," he said.

An Integrated Service from Construction to Curb Appeal

Status Living has now expanded its offering to provide a completely seamless experience for homeowners. Through Status Landscapes, directed by Jason Brian, the company can manage the entire project from the home's structure to its outdoor environment.

"From concept and planning through to construction and completion, the team manages the build and the landscape under one cohesive vision," said Brian. This integrated approach ensures every element is executed to the same high standard, creating homes where architecture and landscape are intrinsically connected.

By offering this rare, end-to-end service, the combined forces of Status Living and Status Landscapes are establishing a new, holistic benchmark for residential building services in the nation's capital.
