A dedicated father from Nowra on the New South Wales South Coast is set to transform his family's future after scoring a life-changing lottery win exceeding $936,000.
A Family-First Windfall
The local man secured a prize of $936,180.60 as one of seven division one winners in the Saturday Lotto draw held on December 27, 2025. His immediate reaction to the news from an official at The Lott was one of pure astonishment. "Holy dooley!" he exclaimed. "Nine hundred thousand dollars! Unbelievable."
The winner, a long-time player, shared his simple yet profound plans for the windfall. "I'll pay the mortgages off for the kids, and I'll treat myself to a box of beer," he stated, highlighting his family-oriented priorities. He added that even mundane chores would now be done with a smile, joking about his previously planned house cleaning for the day.
The Winning Ticket from a Local Store
The fortunate entry was a 25-game QuickPick ticket purchased at Foodworks Worrigee. Store manager Steven Plumpton expressed the team's delight at selling their first-ever division one winning entry. "The entire team at Foodworks Worrigee would like to congratulate the lucky winner and hope that they are able to do amazing things with the prize," Plumpton said, thanking the customer for choosing their store.
National Lotto Success
The winning numbers for Saturday Lotto draw 4637 were 26, 20, 40, 3, 5, and 28, with supplementary numbers 22 and 42. Of the seven division one winners nationally, three were from New South Wales, two from Western Australia, and one each from Queensland and Victoria.
This win contributes to an impressive annual tally for The Lott, bringing the total number of division one winners across its games to 425 so far in 2025. Customers of NSW Lotteries have claimed 120 of those top prizes.
