Corazon Mining's Gascoyne Gold Tenure Granted for 2026 Drilling
Corazon's Gascoyne Gold Tenure Granted for 2026 Drilling

Corazon Mining has successfully navigated a significant regulatory milestone, receiving formal grant of its two core tenements for the Two Pools gold project located in Western Australia's prolific Gascoyne region.

Green Light for Ground Operations

The official approval from the State’s Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) provides the company with the authorisation needed to commence on-ground activities in earnest. Managing Director Simon Coyle confirmed the company is now moving swiftly to get "boots on the ground" and initiate an aggressive exploration schedule.

Key preparations that are already finalised include the design of a diamond drilling program slated for early 2026. The company is currently in discussions with drill contractors and is lining up rigs, with drilling set to begin immediately after final heritage clearances are secured.

Strategic Partnerships and High-Grade Targets

Corazon has fast-tracked the heritage process by signing a comprehensive land-access and co-operation agreement with the Gingirana people, represented by the Marputu Aboriginal Corporation. This partnership is crucial for maintaining social license and ensuring smooth project advancement.

The initial phase of diamond core drilling will focus on twinning some of the most promising historical holes to independently verify exceptional gold intercepts from previous explorers. This work will also provide critical structural data on the orientation of mineralised zones, which is vital for targeting extensions.

Historical results from AIC Resources' 2018 drilling that Corazon aims to confirm are particularly compelling:

  • 12m at 8.89g/t gold from 79m, including a high-grade section of 3m at 34.25g/t gold.
  • 18m at 3.89g/t gold from 83m, with an impressive 4m interval running at 15.96g/t gold.
  • 1m at a remarkable 52.24g/t gold within an 8m intercept grading 7.83g/t gold from 66m depth.

Positioned for Success in a Premier Gold Belt

The Two Pools project is strategically situated just 60km northeast of Catalyst Metals' Plutonic mill, which is currently under-utilised. The project lies within the north-easterly extension of the highly productive Plutonic-Marymia greenstone belt, an area that has already yielded more than six million ounces of gold.

Geologically, the project shares significant similarities with Catalyst Metals' high-grade Trident deposit, where gold-bearing greenstones are found beneath a thin layer of older overthrust granite.

With tenements granted, a key native title partnership sealed, and drill rigs being secured, Corazon Mining has all the essential components in place to thoroughly test what appears to be a genuine high-grade gold system. The company is poised for a busy start to the new year, potentially adding another discovery chapter to Western Australia's Gascoyne region.
