A Melbourne tobacco shop was peppered with bullets about 5.30pm on Tuesday. The same strip of shops on Borrack Square in Altona North were hit in another drive-by shooting in March, with gunfire causing customers at a nearby cafe to scramble.
Police linked the earlier shooting to possible illicit tobacco wars, and it is understood the same line of investigation will continue. A man was shot twice in the arm in the March shooting, but no one was injured in the daylight shooting yesterday.
A tobacco shop in Altona North was hit during a drive-by shooting on Tuesday. Customers at a cafe ran for their lives during an earlier drive-by shooting several doors down in March.
