The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be broadcast live, free, and exclusively on SBS in Australia, with all 104 matches available on SBS, SBS VICELAND, and SBS On Demand. The tournament kicks off on June 12 (AEST) with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
The Socceroos will begin their World Cup campaign on Sunday, June 14 (AEST) against Turkiye. All of Australia's group stage matches will be shown live on SBS and streamed on SBS On Demand.
The 2026 World Cup final is scheduled for July 20 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with kick-off at 5am (AEST). The group stage runs until June 28 (AEST), and knockout stage matches will be added if Australia advances.
Broadcast start times for matches are yet to be confirmed. SBS will also provide coverage of other major sporting events, including the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and World Athletics Championships.
