Major Fundraising Drive for Brain Cancer Research
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has launched a significant fundraising campaign in partnership with the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF), with initiatives projected to raise more than $50,000 to support the fight against brain cancer. The collaboration, which began earlier this year, aims to boost both funds and public awareness for the Foundation's vital work.
Red and Blue Month and New Initiatives
The fundraising efforts are already in full swing with the ongoing Red and Blue month. Throughout this campaign, GRNSW donates $161 to the MHF every time a greyhound wearing the distinctive red or blue racing rugs wins a race on any NSW track. This initiative alone is generating substantial contributions.
Now, GRNSW is amplifying its support with two major new events. The first is a Charity Dinner scheduled for November 29 at The Gardens in Newcastle. The second, and perhaps most exciting for the public, is the launch of a charity raffle offering a trip of a lifetime.
The Ultimate Las Vegas Experience
Thanks to this new raffle, one lucky winner and a companion will jet off to Las Vegas to watch the 2026 NRL Season Opener. The incredible prize package includes:
- Return Qantas flights for two
- An eight-day trip with five nights' accommodation at the iconic Caesars Palace
- Tickets to the highly anticipated NRL Season Opener in 2026
- An additional $1000 spending money if the winner is present at the Charity Dinner on November 29
This initiative provides a unique opportunity for sports fans to experience the electric atmosphere of a major rugby league event on the global stage while contributing to a critically important cause.
