South Australia's rising cycling star Wil Holmes has kicked off the 2025 AusCycling Road National Championships in spectacular fashion, securing a commanding victory in the under-23 men's time trial.
Holmes Powers to Victory on Ballarat Course
The event, held on the challenging roads around the Victorian city of Ballarat, saw the 19-year-old from Adelaide dominate the field. Holmes completed the 28.6-kilometre individual time trial course in a blistering time of 36 minutes and 24.50 seconds. His performance was strong enough to hold off the challenge from Western Australia's Declan Trezise, who finished second, and Queensland's Brady Gilmore in third.
