West Coast Eagle Tyler Brockman Charged with GBH

West Coast Eagles forward Tyler Brockman has been formally charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, the AFL club confirmed in a statement released on Friday.

Police Allegations and Court Date

The charges stem from an incident that occurred near Geraldton on December 28. Western Australia Police will allege in court that Brockman struck a man in his late teens at approximately 3:50 am in Drummond Cove, which is located nearly 430 kilometres north of Perth.

The victim sustained serious injuries described as non-life-threatening. Brockman is scheduled to appear before the Geraldton Magistrates Court on February 19 to face the charge.

Brockman's Current Status and Career

Despite the off-season incident, the 23-year-old player has returned to training with the West Coast Eagles. The West Australian reported that Brockman was observed on the training field as recently as Friday.

Brockman was originally drafted to Hawthorn in 2021 before making a return to his home state of Western Australia to join the Eagles in 2024. Throughout his AFL career, he has played a total of 30 games for the club.

In the previous season, Brockman managed to kick 14 goals across 20 games. His 2024 campaign was unfortunately cut short due to a syndesmosis injury, which ended his participation early.
