The City of Belmont has announced a major change at the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, ending its seven-year partnership with BlueFit and appointing a new operator. The decision, approved at the council's May meeting, will see Belgravia Health and Leisure Group take over management of the popular community facility.
Return to Former Operator
Belgravia, which manages leisure and aquatic facilities across Australia, previously operated the centre until 2019 before BlueFit was appointed. The company will now be responsible for day-to-day operations, including fitness programs, aquatic services, and community facilities.
The City of Belmont said the decision followed an open tender process earlier this year and was part of long-term planning for the facility. In a statement, the city emphasised that maintaining accessible and high-quality sport, recreation, and aquatic services would remain a priority during the transition period.
Transition Details
BlueFit confirmed that all memberships, learn-to-swim lessons, programs, bookings, and services will continue as normal until the handover takes place on 1 July 2026. The leisure centre will remain open and operate as usual during the transition.
In a statement, BlueFit expressed pride in its achievements over the past seven years, highlighting relationships with members, families, sporting clubs, schools, and community groups. The company said it is working closely with the City of Belmont and the incoming operator to support employees during the change.
Belgravia Health and Leisure Group will take over management of the centre, which features a cafe, main sport stadium, creche, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, and a group fitness room. The facility on Progress Way in Belmont is a key community asset.
