Man dies, four injured in Sydney shooting

A man has died and four others have been injured following an alleged shooting in Sydney's western suburbs. NSW Police reported that officers were called to Liverpool Hospital around 8:30pm on Tuesday after two men, both in their 20s, arrived with multiple wounds believed to be gunshot-related.

One of the men died a short time later. He has yet to be formally identified. The other man remains in a stable condition at the hospital.

About 10 minutes later, two other men arrived at nearby Fairfield Hospital in a critical condition to receive treatment for their injuries. At 9:50pm, a fifth man, believed to be 19, arrived at Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition to be treated for his injuries.

Police say they have established a crime scene at a home in Canley Heights, with officers from the local area and the state's homicide squad commencing an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the five men's injuries.
