Geelong County Court List for Thursday 14 May 2026
The Geelong County Court has released its full list of appearances for Thursday, 14 May 2026. The court will hear a variety of criminal and civil matters throughout the day, with cases scheduled from the morning session onwards.
Morning Session
The morning session will commence at 10:00 AM. Presiding Judge Her Honour Judge Smith will hear the following cases:
- R v. Anderson – Sentencing for charges of theft and fraud. The defendant, John Anderson, is accused of embezzling funds from a local business.
- R v. Brown – Mention for drug possession. Sarah Brown faces charges related to the possession of a controlled substance.
- R v. Carter – Plea hearing for assault. Michael Carter is expected to enter a plea regarding an alleged assault incident.
Afternoon Session
The afternoon session will begin at 2:00 PM, with His Honour Judge Davis presiding. Cases include:
- R v. Davis – Trial continuation for burglary. The trial of Emma Davis, charged with burglary, will continue with witness testimony.
- R v. Edwards – Sentencing for driving offences. Peter Edwards will be sentenced for multiple traffic violations.
- Civil Matter: Smith v. Jones – Hearing on a property dispute. The court will hear arguments regarding a boundary disagreement.
Additional Matters
Several other matters are listed for mention or procedural hearings, including family law cases and minor civil disputes. The court advises all parties to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled time and to check the court noticeboard for any last-minute changes.
