A young driver has tragically died in hospital after his four-wheel-drive vehicle rolled on a busy freeway in Western Australia, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Fatal Accident on Mitchell Freeway
Major Crash investigators are currently examining the scene of the accident on the Mitchell Freeway at Wembley, located in Perth’s inner western suburbs. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Emergency services were called to the scene around 10:30 am on Sunday following reports that a white Nissan Patrol, travelling northbound, had lost control near the Powis Street exit and rolled over. The crash occurred between the Leederville and Glendalough train stations, with many train commuters passing the crash scene.
The Mitchell Freeway remains closed as Major Crash detectives conduct their investigation. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage from the area to come forward and contact investigators.
